The GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter Ashley Monroe released “Over Everything,” her first single following her critically-acclaimed 2021 album Rosegold. Monroe also released an official visualizer for the song directed by Erika Rock and shot in East Tennessee where she was raised.

About the song, Monroe explains, “As a songwriter, it’s always been so interesting to see how the feeling of a song can mold and shift and shape with the years. The life of the song, versus the life of an artist. ‘Over Everything’ is one of those songs. I wrote it a few years ago with Al Anderson and Scott Stepakoff, but it feels the most real from where I’m standing now. As much as this song is about looking back, it’s even more so the attitude and feeling I have in looking ahead, ‘learning how to use my wings’ in this new chapter of my career.”

“For me, this project looks and feels like a homecoming for my soul, so we decided to take a team of creatives to the area I was raised in East Tennessee to shoot the visuals. The video for ‘Over Everything’ celebrates all the small details — down to my Granni's quilt — that have played a part in shaping who I am.”

Over the past two years, Monroe has remained busy writing and collaborating, most recently appearing on Ben Chapman’s single “Is It Ever Really Gone” and co-writing Miranda Lambert and Leon Bridges’ “If You Were Mine.”

Her critically-acclaimed 2021 album Rosegold received praise from Rolling StoneThe Nashville SceneNo Depression, VulturePaste MagazineGarden & GunStereogumPitchfork and many more. In their 2021 Best Albums of the Year coverage Vulture proclaimed, “Monroe continues to refine her talents as a writer and a vocalist while expanding her artistic palette in a batch of songs that slides from synth-pop to spectral, psychedelic R&B to gothic pop to lush, orchestral balladry to muted country rock.”

"Chuck Ragan’s solo output has given him the chance to explore the twangier side of life. There’s a lot more acoustic guitar, fiddle, and pedal steel guitar than amps cranked to max. The power and potency isn’t dialed back though – Ragan’s weather-beaten voice still commands your undivided attention." - NPR

"The thing about Chuck is, it’s sort of hard to shoot the shit with the guy. How do you make small talk with a man who’s larger than life? It’s like talking about the weather with a unicorn." - VICE

"Impassioned, undeniable shot of sing-along Americana." - Rolling Stone

“’Echo the Halls’ is a simple love story of two unhinged souls searching for a light at the end of a tunnel,” explains celebrated folk troubadour Chuck Ragan about his new single which is released today, November 17, 2023 via Rise Records and is available HERE. Widely anticipated, it’s his first new music since 2016’s soundtrack to the videogame The Flame in the Flood.

Brimming with trademark Chuck-isms, “Echo the Halls” keeps one foot firmly planted in the punk tradition that carried him through a majority of his musical career as co-frontman of Florida’s Hot Water Music and the other in the rootsy Americana of his solo career. With his distinctly rugged and warm vocals soaring anthemically above a propulsive rhythm section that complements his heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics, Chuck displays his music’s innate immediacy, making him a beloved songwriter and a press darling.

“Many of the songs that I discover and gravitate to stem from love and reflection,” he says.  “That said, love and reflection isn’t always pleasant and often at times painful. Songwriting to me has always been about looking deeper into myself to overcome my faults and dark sides.  Whether I find them myself or learn of them from loved ones.”

A formidable presence on stage for the last three decades, Chuck Ragan played his first solo show over 30 years ago and has been writing heartfelt campfire anthems ever since he picked up an acoustic guitar at the age of 12. Growing up in the Southeast and raised by his Louisiana and Florida-bred Southern family, he has toured the world with seminal punk band Hot Water Music as well as with his own solo career. Ragan conceptualized The Revival Tour in 2005, which has been one of the most anticipated tours throughout North America, Europe, and Australia since its inception in 2008. Featuring such punk rock royalty as Frank TurnerDave Hause (The Loved Ones), Jenny Owens YoungBrian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!), Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) among many others, The Revival Tour was a festival of sorts that brought together artists of varying genres to collaborate and jam on stage as a musical collective.  Ragan has toured the globe extensively for the past two decades and has become a household name in both the folk and punk communities.

"It's a blessing and a privilege to stand on stage and play music for people,” he explains. “I meet so many folks out there, and they're so hospitable and so kind and say such nice things to me about the songs. The support and the energy that I get from them is what makes it possible for me to keep doing this. And when I'm there and in that moment, it's important to me to give it back to them as strongly as they're giving it to me."

Aside from his constantly evolving musical career, Chuck is a true multi-hyphenate as he is an established fishing guide who leads fly fishing trips throughout the Sacramento Valley Rivers in and around the Western region of the Lower Sierra Nevada Mountains. He has also written a book The Road Most Traveled. (2012) which compiles anecdotes about life on the road. In addition, an award-winning documentary Landsick which was based on his balance between music, his fishing and his family had a theatrical release  in 2018 followed by  a wide-release on YouTube the following year.

Echo the Halls” was produced by Todd Beene and Chuck Ragan, engineered by Ryan Williams at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, Fl. and features Spencer Duncan on bass, George Rebelo (Hot Water Music) on drums, Todd Beene on guitar and pedal steel. It is released today, November 17, 2023 via Rise Records and can be streamed/purchased herehttps://rr.lnk.to/EchotheHalls.

Chris Kage - We Stand Free (feat. Langhorne Slim) - Official Lyric Video

Chris Kage Taps Langhorne Slim for Empowering New Single “We Stand Free”

Upcoming Album Cycles Out December 8

Chris Kage has shared his new single “We Stand Free,” which finds the Brooklyn-based producer, artist and songwriter teaming up with Langhorne Slim for lead vocals on the soulful track. A moment of joyful empowerment backed by the East Coast Inspirational Singers choir, “We Stand Free” was praised by Americana Highways who called it “a glorious wake-up call with gospel optimism.” The new song is the next offering from Kage’s forthcoming album Cycles, due out December 8.

“‘We Stand Free’ is a celebratory song of returning back to some sense of self with new wisdom and knowledge - the knowledge that we stand free in each and every moment to create our identity anew,” shares Kage. “The song mixes elements of Latin samba with African tribal drums and church choir vocals, highly inspired by Paul Simon and his ability to fuse such diverse genres. The song was also inspired by a desire by Langhorne Slim and myself to have him perform a celebratory song with a choir at an annual Sound Mind Music Festival for mental health I procure. Seeing the magic and power of this triumphant sound inspired the need to include a song of celebration on this album - which is a part of any emotional journey.”

Langhorne Slim on the collaboration: “I first met Chris several years ago while playing an event for Sound Mind Live, his mental health organization that I admire and support. I learned quickly that Chris is the rare kind of human that has both emotional and intellectual intelligence - smart enough in the heart to care deeply for others and sharp enough in the mind to make shit happen. Through his actions with Sound Mind and now with his music, it’s clear that Chris aims to leave this earth a little better than he found it. He walks the walk, talks the talk and sings the songs. He’s got that inner light and I’m proud to have lent my voice to this beautiful song. We hope y’all enjoy!”

“We Stand Free” follows the stirring “Leave The Light On” featuring Joe Jury, a compelling song about resilience. Kage’s upcoming album Cycles is an exploration into the evolving path of identity through birth, life, death and rebirth. After spending time behind the scenes as a songwriter and backing musician touring with the likes of Micah, Lukas and Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Wax Owls and more, Cycles finds him embracing his own sense of rebirth as he steps into the forefront. The album was written and recorded almost entirely by Kage in his Brooklyn home studio, with friends Joe Jury, J.O.Y and Langhorne Slim taking on lead vocal duties. This collaborative form of production mirrors Kage’s healing journey – delving alone into the shadows to face and redefine oneself, but eventually calling on the support of others to emerge anew.

Kage’s need to confront the shadow parts of himself came full force when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in his mid-20s. Rather than being inhibited by the struggle, he saw it as a necessary part of his human experience and one that he could share with others. In 2019, he launched Sound Mind Live, a non-profit whose mission is to foster community and action on mental health through the power of music.

Cycles also marks a musical rebirth for Kage, who leaves behind the Americana and country spaces he’s lived in for more modern and alt-pop influences. With dark undertones uplifted by melodies of hopeful exultation, Kage takes listeners on a captivating cross-genre journey with deeply resonating lyrics about the human condition.

Worst In Me - Ava King (Visualizer)

AVA KING

SKEWERS TOXIC HOLIDAY CHEER WITH SINGLE & VISUALIZER

"Worst In Me"OUT NOW

FROM UPCOMING ALBUM: SEX MONEY GOD (Out Independently Early February 2024)

November 17th, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA) – "Worst In Me” is “the story of two good people, who, in each other’s presence, become awful, narcissistic bitches. You can be a good person, but when you’re around certain people, you become the worst in the world,” the Paris born & L.A. based multi-hyphenate artist Aventurina King, known as Ava King, explains about her new single.

Worst In Me" is like an Anti-Christmas song, an antithesis to holiday cheer, discussing how sometimes it’s those closest to you that bring out your darkest sides. Not everyone has an easy time with family. “I love writing sarcastic songs from the point of view of my shadow self,” King unfolds. The gloom-ridden, yet upbeat track echoes elements of alt-pop icons Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, and Gwen Stefani, while maintaining Ava’s one-of-a-kind, edgy, punk sensibility.

"I wish I could be different / Wish I could act like an adult / Control some of my emotions / But I can’t and I won't

'Cause you’re so triggering to me / I guess it’s finally time to both admit defeat / And maybe I could use a little therapy / Or you could stop being a psycho / Why can't you stop being a psycho?

And oh I wish that it wasn’t so / 'Cause it's sad to see you go / When there ain't nothing wrong with us / As long as we take separate planes / You bring out the worst in me..."

Ava King by Serena Dong

“I was going for a Billie Eilish thing through the minimalistic sound I was piecing together. I’ve always liked that the main aspect to the song is the tri-tone, known as the “Devil’s Interval.” That’s the main synth, so I wanted to create the vibe around that, and to create a holiday song that was realistic and representative of the other side of the holidays. There’s a lot of songs representing loving family and Christmas and cheer, but what about the other side, how awful it can be?” King muses.

“Worst In Me”, was written and produced in Ava’s living room, and from inception to the final mix, flowed through her hands. “I get really triggered sometimes and am not the person I want to be. I feel very separated from my family of origin. The track is about loving somebody but knowing that being around them makes both of you awful– having love for somebody but knowing they’re not good for your health and vice versa,” King vulnerably expounds.

Ava's upcoming album "SEX MONEY GOD (out early February 2024) is about how our society worships false gods, like sex and money, at the expense of the real God, which resides within each of us. I go on the journey of seeking validation and love outside of myself, and slowly, as the album progresses, I learn how to love myself and find love within,” Ava says. She thoughtfully continues, “SEX MONEY GOD represents my growth spiritually and emotionally, more than as an artist. Sure, my production might have gotten better, but it's more about me figuring out what my finite life is about and what to do with the time I have. Western capitalist society teaches us that pleasure and the senses are king, and the person who wins is the person with the most toys. I tried to live my life that way, but it didn't work for me. This album is about my search for something different.”

Ava King is the new breakout solo artist project from guitarist, pianist, bassist, singer, songwriter, and producer Aventurina King. Having spent a great deal of time and energy creating music tutorials and working on promoting body positivity, mental health and de-stigmatization of therapy and addiction issues, Ava has a newfound drive and focus towards her upcoming record, SEX MONEY GOD

Born in Paris, France during a particularly summer-y June, Ava King is a cancer– intuitive and creative, in tune with her emotions, and at times a little bit emo.
