For years, Rico McFarland played guitar for such luminous blues artists as James Cotton, Lucky Peterson and others before finally launching his solo career in 2001 to much acclaim.  McFarland performed at the 2022 Chicago Blues Fest on Saturday night opening for Lonnie Baker Brooks. It was a great night of  Blues music from the new generation of younger Blues artists.

Chicago Blues Festival is implemented every year by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Event (DCASE), which support Blues artists from all over the world. You can catch the next Chicago Blues Festival in June 2023. If you can not wait till then it is recommend you visit several of Chicago's finest Blues Clubs, such as Buddy Guys, Rosa Lounge, Kingston Mines and others.
